Biography
For Jacqui, art is both a calling and a sanctuary - a way to connect with the beauty and wonder woven into the fabric of creation. Her journey as a self-taught artist has been shaped by a fascination for the Old Masters, the Pre-Raphaelites, and the teachings of American artist Mark Carder, whose approach to Classical Realism continues to challenge and inspire her.
Jacqui specialises in oil painting and the historical art of gilded illumination, blending traditional techniques with a contemporary sensibility. Her subjects range from the vibrant native birds and lush florals of New Zealand to small bespoke gilded initials crafted with pure gold. The interplay between gold, colour and natural motifs allows her to create pieces that are both elegant and deeply personal - unique gifts that honour the worth and dignity of her clients.
Jacqui’s pieces offer her viewers a moment of stillness and wonder, encouraging them to notice the beauty woven into everyday life. Through each brushstroke and gilded detail, she aims to celebrate creation and steward her God-given gifts with joy and gratefulness.
