Biography
For Jacqui, art is both a calling and a sanctuary - a way to connect with the beauty and wonder woven into the fabric of creation, and a place to find solace & purpose. Her journey as a self-taught artist has been shaped by a fascination for the Old Masters, the Pre-Raphaelites, and the teachings of American artist Mark Carder, whose approach to Classical Realism continues to challenge and inspire her.
Jacqui specialises in oil painting, blending traditional techniques with a contemporary sensibility. Her subjects range from vibrant native birds to the lush florals of New Zealand. The interplay between nuanced colours and natural motifs allows her to create bespoke pieces that are thoughtful, elegant and charming.
Jacqui’s pieces offer her viewers a moment of stillness and wonder, encouraging them to notice the beauty woven into everyday life. Through each brushstroke and painted detail, she aims to celebrate creation and steward her God-given gifts with joy and gratefulness.
